The Heroine's Journey:
explorations in the underworld
Embracing the underworld experience and navigating the decent is a sacred process that demands death to a part of our identity; a false self, role, belief or attachment. Our decent can be precipitated by a life changing loss, illness, accident, heartbreak or any life wounding that challenges our sense of self and calls forth a deeper wisdom. In this powerful workshop, we walk together through the gates to the underworld, unveiling our lost identities and sacrificing our old, worn out bones so that our metamorphosis can begin. Moodling in this space between worlds, we will engage our creative forces through dance, music, writing and visual art practices that assist us in molding our corpse, befriending the darkness and reshaping our bones. From this sacred reshaping of the self, we explore the profound imagery of death and rebirth and begin our return to life above ground, where our shadows are held in honor and gratitude.

This hands-on, embodying workshop utilizes all of the creative arts practices; dance/movement, music, creative writing, poetry, drama and the visual arts in order to assist women and girls in discovering a rich connection with their feminine language. Listening to the body's expression, visual storytelling and capturing a guiding mythology is at the heart of this workshop. Through this artistic exploration into a core consciousness of self, participants discover an intimate and often hidden inner voice of empowerment.
